You could easily give a game ball to Dalvin Cook for his 218 combined yards from scrimmage but he fumbled twice.

You could give a game ball to Kirk Cousins for his 306 yards through the air and two touchdown passes but there were some missed opportunities that were overshadowed by the victory.

But the most deserving offensive player was clearly Adam Thielen, who destroyed the Giants defense by reeling in seven receptions for 130 yards and two touchdowns.

Thielen would’ve had more than 44 yards on his longest play of the day had C.J. Ham blocked the right guy.

Thielen made a couple of catches that helped Cousins look better than he was. Here are his two touchdown catches.

There were plenty of deserving Vikings defenders on Sunday.

Everson Griffen had another outstanding game pressuring Daniel Jones, collecting one sack and even dragged Jones down from behind when the rookie broke the pocket to run on one play.

Danielle Hunter was his disruptive self again, earning two more sacks to go along with his seven tackles.

Harrison Smith nearly had a pick on a superb pass breakup, defended another pass, and had six tackles.

But Anthony Barr had the defensive play that picked up the Vikings after Dalvin Cook‘s deflating fumble that killed what looked like an offensive touchdown drive.

With the Giants backed up on their one-yard line, Barr timed his blitz perfectly and knifed through New York’s line to tackle the running back for a safety, giving the Vikings two points and the ball.

Barr was also consistently applying pressure to Daniel Jones, forcing a couple of incompletions. He had a sack taken away by an Anthony Harris penalty and he closed out the game by jumping a route for an interception.

Official Game Ball

The Vikings official game ball went to the Wilfs, the owners who hail from New Jersey, as Ziggy Wilf corrected Mike Zimmer.
