1995 Vikings @ Lions, Week 13

The Detroit Lions always play the Vikings tough and this Throwback Thursday game was no exception.

While the Vikings lost 44-38 to the Lions on Novemer 23, 1995 at the Pontiac Silverdome, it was nevertheless a good game, a classic Thanksgiving shootout that has both teams combine for 82 points and nearly 1,000 yards of offense.

For the Vikings, wide receiver Jake Reed scored on a 55 yard bomb from quarerback Warren Moon. Cris Carter caught two touchdowns. David Palmer returned a punt 74 yards for a score and safety Orlando Thomas returned a fumble for a score.

For the Lions, wide receiver Brett Perriman caught two touchdowns from quarterback Scott Mitchell (remember when the Vikings were in the Scott Mitchell Sweepstakes?). Johnnie Morton and Herman Moore also caught touchdown passes and Hall of Famer Barry Sanders had a 50 yard run for a touchdown.
