The Star Tribune‘s Chudd Zulggins report that Brad Childress and Percy Harvin had a squabble at practice on Friday.
Childress apparently questioned the effort Harvin was giving on the field. Harvin, of course, has been healing from the turned ankle he suffered–but played through–against the Patriots.
What’s odd is that Childress made a point of pointing out just how tough Harvin was for playing through the injury against the Pats. But it seems less odd when you consider that Randy Moss and Percy Harvin formed a close friendship during Moss’ brief second tenure, that Harvin was reportedly livid that Moss was released, and that one of the suggested reasons for Moss’ release was his lack of effort.
This kinda feels like Childress attempting to re-assert his authority by criticizing a “Moss loyalist” for the very thing Moss has been criticized for himself.
Cue up Cartman: “Respect my authoritah:”

Vikings: Wide receiver Percy Havin (ankle) is questionable as is cornerback Frank Walker (hamstring); quarterback Brett Favre (body–that’s how the Strib put it!) is probable, as is cornerback Chris Cook (quadriceps), guard Chris DeGeare (ankle), linebacker Ben Leber (knee), cornerback Lito Sheppard (hand), defensive tackle Pat Williams (elbow), cornerback Asher Allen (back), center John Sullivan (calf) and wide receiver Bernard Berrian.
Cardinals: Linebacker Clark Haggans (groin) is doubtful’ running back Beanie Wells (knee) is questionable; defensive tackle Alan Branch (back), receiver Steve Breaston (knee), linebacker Will Davis (groin), linebacker Early Doucet (groin) and end Kenny Iwebema (shoulder) are probable.
THE DEETS
The game will be broadcast on FOX nationally and locally at noon Sunday at the Mall of America Field at the Metrodome. Kenny Albert will provide the play-by-play with Daryl Johnston providing analysis. The “sideline reporter” will be Tony Siragusa.

Is a small price to pay for deliberately targeting quarterback Brett Favre, apparently. The Patriots’ Gary Guyton was fined $7,500 for unnecessarily striking Favre in the head and neck area in the first quarter and Myron Pryor was fined $7,500 for the same during the fourth quarter.
Pryor’s hit knocked Favre from the game and cost him 10 stitches in his chin.
So are teams going after Favre, penalties and fines be damned?
I said at the beginning of the season that if teams were going to try and implement The Blueprint against Favre, the only way to protect him is to go after the opposing quarterback.
